Tandem Wilderness Watercraft

My goal is to develop a watercraft which maintains maximum stability, comfort and silence. This product will maintain a thin profile so it can be easily transported on a car top, portaged through rough terrain and stored efficiently in the off season. The propulsion mechanism is provided by, Hobie Cat Company. The mechanism is called, “MirageDrive System” (http://www.hobiecat.com/kayaking/index.html). The MirageDrive is a man powered pedal system that operates quietly and effectively even in shallow water. This watercraft will include; a dual MirageDrive, retractable pontoons to eliminate lateral instability, front and rear yolks for comfortable portaging, adjustable back rests, rear passenger rudder control, mesh tie-down storage, storage trays, insulated cooler, dry storage, fishing rod holders and easy carry handles. Its intended market is outdoor enthusiasts and hobbyists such as fishers, hunters, and photographers.
