This product is for visually impaired adults who have experience with and
are capable of independent personal travel in clear outdoor conditions. They have a short list of places that they walk to regularly in a typical week, but these travels are impeded by weather conditions. *The opportunity:* *a wearable orientation device used with the white cane that allows users to travel confidently along familiar routes during all seasons by supplementing environmental landmarks and cues that are masked by the elements and undetected by current aids*. The user voice records landmarks and points of interest which correspond to positions that are being measured by the device. During inclement weather, the recorded voice is played back through a speaker that attaches to the jacket. Components are stored in a neoprene case.
