Bjarki Hallgrimsson has been teaching industrial design at Carleton University since 2003. He graduated from Stanford Universities Product Design program in 1991. He holds over 25 patents in various fields including medical and sports equipment, most of these have been developed at HPD (Hallgrimsson Product Development), a company which he started in 1996. He has also worked for DW Product Development in Ottawa and Lunar Design in Palo Alto. He has won numerous design awards including two Gold National Post DX awards and one Silver IDEA awards from IDSA.
