The
Automated Postal Service Centre (APSC) is a
standalone unit will provide postal customers
with the means to purchase postage for letter
mail and package, eliminating the need to make
a trip to the post office. The APSC is also
intended to improve the postal processing time
by bypassing the culling and facing stage of
mail processing for letter mail and flats (9”x
12” envelops) only. The APCS will accept
credit card and fast pay methods (i.e. Blink
technology). Time and date stamping on letter
mail and flats give customers on a tight deadline
the ability to get mail out on time (i.e. tax
deadlines) to avoid penalties or expirations
on applications. The APSC would be a valuable
piece of machinery that can improve the lives
of people on the go and provide easy access
to a mailing system that is underutilized.
