Sledge
hockey body armour, including shin pads and
a lap piece, was designed to protect the thighs,
knees, shins and outer legs of sledge hockey
players. This equipment provides protection
where contact can result from checking, slashing
and being struck by the picks at the end of
players’ sticks. The design of this equipment
allows sledge hockey players to be sufficiently
protected from injury while maintaining a tight
fit to his/her sledge, thus increasing player
