David
Quan |
 |
|
 |
David Quan graduated in Industrial
Design in 1990 from Humber College.
David started his career at
the Axis Group, an internationally
acclaimed design studio working
on award winning product design
in a diverse range of industries
including furniture, toys, sporting
goods, medical, telecommunication
and high-tech equipment. As
well as hard goods, the Axis
Group specialized in design
strategy and research.
David also worked for Jonathan
Crinion on an office system
for
Knoll furniture. He is currently
Senior designer/ Creative Lead
at
Umbra, where he is responsible
for developing sustainable approaches
to product development. He is
also responsible for colour
trend, advancing plastic technologies,
mentoring new designers, as
well as
developing products in all of
Umbra's product categories.
David is a member of several
design related boards and associations.
He holds several patens, and
has won numerous product design
awards
including the '1999 Good Design'
award for Slip shoehorn, '2004
Housewares award' for Seto modular
seating, and 'Form 2003' for
Jump Chess set. |
