three to six ‘virtual’ boards, 790 pixels wide x 600 pixels high, RGB format.  These boards will explain your design and must include:

    • one photograph of the final model in use
    • one image of the final model as CAD rendering*(see note below)
    • one page demonstrating sketch progression

to bring to the show
At the show on May 9th, the entrant must bring the following:

boards that describe the thesis work with text and images.  The size is your choice but they must include:

    • minimum of one CAD rendering* (see note below)
    • minimum of one photo of the product in use, with human scale
    • one page demonstrating sketch progression, from start to final design
    • plinth or table to display your project

* In lieu of a CAD rendering, textile / soft - goods projects that do not require 3D CAD will provide a 2D drawing / spec sheet that will include sizing, materials and notes about construction details.  Please include anything that would be used to convey to the manufacturer / person doing the construction what it is that you want sewn.  This will be used by judges to better understand the project and to show process.

At the Show:

floor space
Each student will be provided with a 3' x 3' floor space. If any students have models exceeding this size, please let us know the dimensions ASAP so that we can revise the floor plan. Please email acido.rocket@gmail.com with these details

tables and plinths
There will be no tables or plinths supplied. Students are required to supply these items.  Things to bear in mind-  the platform should be the appropriate height for easy viewing of your model and it should be stable. People will be there to view your work, not your stand, so don't sweat it.

power / wall sockets
We cannot guarantee access to power or wall sockets for displays, presentations, laptops, etc. If any student absolutely requires power, let us know ASAP by e mailing us at  acido.rocket@gmail.com and we will try our best to accommodate you. We strongly advise that you do not rely on power access as a key part of your presentation.

personal items
ACIDO is not responsible for personal items.  As far as laptops, bags and such go, it will be the students' responsibility to secure their personal items. We advise you not to leave these items unattended at any time. We cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

board size and content
A target format for posters is approximately 18"x24". This can be one board, or 2-3 smaller boards (around 11" x 17") etc. That said the format of the presentation is really up to you. Should you wish to use any existing boards that fully define their project and fit into the allotted space that is fine.

Board Content: It should fully explain the project such that a judge or passer-by can easily understand the scope of the work without requiring the student to explain verbally.  The student's name and project name should be clearly visible so that the judges can identify each project.

thesis report and sketchbooks
You may have your thesis report and any process sketchbook(s) present at the show for the judges and guests to view. (This is not required!) Your sketches and report are very valuable so we suggest that they only be left on display in your presence! Again, we cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

easels
Easels are limited. ACIDO has a very limited amount of easels available for the show.  You may need to make other plans for displaying your boards, or bring your own easel.  Posters and boards or models cannot be taped, pinned or mounted in any way to the walls. The Great Hall is a historical building and this is a stipulation of our rental agreement.
