Welcome to ACIDO’s 8th annual design competition - Rocket 2009, Ontario’s graduate industrial design competition and show. Rocket awards recognize the work created by graduating students of the province’s 3 schools of Industrial Design; Carleton University, Humber College, and Ontario College of Art & Design.

Rocket promotes the work of these students, helping them to understand the process involved with successful product development. Rocket serves to make the work of these students accessible to a broader audience, providing them with a link to other young designers, industry professionals, and potential clients.

Winners Announced:

The 2009 Rocket Show took place May 9th and 10th at the Great Hall in Toronto, Ontario.

We had over fifty students competing in seven categories! Thank you to all of the students for making this year’s show a great success. ACIDO wishes you the best as you begin your Industrial Design careers.

ACDIO would also like to thank everyone who made this year’s show possible including our Rocket organizers led by Jonathan Louden, the twenty-two judges who generously donated their time and to our many sponsors for providing prizes for the students.

Rocket Prize:

The Rocket Prize was split between Dennis Cheng and Heidi Mok. Cheng’s project, the Eva20, is a ceramic and glass bowl that provides food cooling through water evaporation Mok’s T.A.G. (Take. Act. Give.) is a clothing collection and donation service for organizations such as the Salvation Army.
