| BathHopper is a bath bench that is made for older adults with mobility issues, but can be used by anyone who’d rather sit down while showering. BathHopper’s goal is to make the experience of showering safer and more enjoyable for older adults.
BathHopper simply slots together and rests on the edges of the bath. The shower curtain can slide through a groove on one side of BathHopper so the floor stays dry, and there’s a cutout on the seat so no standing is required to wash one’s bottom.
People faced with needing an assistive device are often reluctant to adopt one because they don’t want to feel old, or that they are living with a disability. BathHopper’s aesthetics are warm and friendly, and it doesn’t speak “assistive device,” which helps remove that important first hurdle in adopting a piece of furniture that will provide much needed safety and support. |
