The upRiser personal mobility assistive device was developed in order to aid the safe transfer of seniors from a sitting to a standing position. The product features handles at two levels in order to assist the user in rising using less arm strength. The handles are made of a large diameter textured rubber material to make it easier to grasp for those with limited hand dexterity. The high contrast (black & yellow) colours are easier to see for those with vision difficulties. upRiser also helps to prevent injuries from falling, by moving the center of gravity closer to the user than existing products and it also features the use of a weight activated braking mechanism.
