This product addresses problems with public lighting, namely light pollution and excess energy use by offering targeted lighting, affording lighting designers more control of their lighting activities. Rather than retrofitting to existing light fixtures, it provides opportunities to illuminate public spaces in new ways. LEDs’ small size enables light application exactly where it is needed, rather than wastefully bathing large areas in light. The aim is to augment, rather than replace all traditional lighting, but it is also to provide the required lighting with less light. This product improves upon existing LED products by offering enhanced serviceability, customization and upgradeability, less waste and easier materials identification, separation and recycling. Extruded aluminum parts can make fixtures of any length, and an infinite variety of LED spacing. Integral heat sink features prolong LED life and allow more current flow to fully utilize the LEDs’ output capacity. |
